The Story of Sebring Builders' Team
Sebring
Builders was formed by Randy Bean and Rick Bennett, a team of highly
qualified, experienced, customer-oriented builder/developers.
After Hurricane Andrew ddevastated
the Miami and Homestead areas of South Florida in 1992, this Sebring
Builders team helped homeowners rebuild their homes.
This
is a close-knit crew, most of whom have been together for more than 18
years. Today, they continue in their dedication to building quality
homes and putting the customer first.
Randy Bean has been involved in the Construction and Real Estate development industry for
more than 24 years. He has managed and developed projects in Long Island and
Staten Island, New York, Westchester County New York as well as developing five six-story mid-rise
residential buildings in Annapolis, Maryland. Randy moved to Florida
in 1987 and along with Rick started Sebring Builders. Randy is responsible
for land acquisition, design, sales and marketing and has been intimately
involved in the company’s residential products. From the conceptual
design of the development through the thoughtful design of each floor
plan, Randy will work with a home buyer to assure that they are totally
satisfied with the design of their new home.
Rick Bennett has been a building contractor for more than 36 years.
After 10 years of building in Ohio, Rick and his family moved to South
Florida. A long-time master carpenter, Rich became a Florida State licensed
General and roofing Contractor in 1986.
Rick brings a thorough knowledge of all aspects of both commercial and
residential design and construction to Sebring Builders. His years of
experience and attention to every detail along with hands-on involvement
assures that every home built by Sebring Builders meets the company’s
high standard with particular attention paid to every detail from the
building shell to the quality finishes. Rick takes a special personal
pride in every home that the company builds.
More about our Solar Energy Partner,
Florida Solar Innovators

Photovoltaics
(PV), or solar cells as they are often called, are semiconductor devices
that convert sunlight into direct current (DC) electricity.
With the
appropriate power conversion equipment, PV systems can produce
alternative current (AC) that is compatible with conventional appliances
and operates in conjunction with the utility grid.
Batteries (optional as shown in the photo above) are often used in PV
systems for the purpose of storing energy produced
during the day, and to supply electrical loads as needed, such as
during a power outage.

Stone Ridge Development Offers Location, Strength, Savings
Heartland Sun Times
By Timothy Saenz
They are the qualities people, especially in Florida, often want in a home: good location, hurricane resistance, good looks, and savings.
So, Sebring Builders (Rick Bennett and Randy Bean, with over 50 years experience between them) chose to create a development in the scenic area between Lakeview Drive and Sebring Parkway that's close to shopping, dining and hospitals and give it an elegant name: StoneRidge.
They will build 188 pre-cast concrete homes that can withstand winds of up to 290 miles per hour. They will beautify them with a stone and stucco facade, pavers and a variety of colors. And they will cap them with solar panels that could cut a resident's electric bill in half.
If your content - especially in Sebring - to enrich an electric company with a $200 to $400 a month payment instead of using some of that money to play a few more rounds of golf or to go out for pizza when you want to, then please ignore this story. Stop reading. No, no, why save money for a weekend getaway when you can pay a larger electric bill.
On the other hand, if golf, pizza, weekend getaways, a strong, good looking home, a community center, swimming pool, fitness, tennis, other recreation amenities, and the safety of a gated community sound pretty good to you, then StoneRidge just might be the place into which you and your family want to sink roots.
Sebring Goes Green
Highlands Today Industry Updates
With over 50 guest in attendance, Stone Ridge, the largest solar community in the State of Florida, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, September 6, 2008.
John Masiello, director of alternative energy for Progress Energy, was in attendance and spoke of the partnership Progress Energy has developed with Rick Bennett and Randy Bean of Sebring Builders. Masiello remarked that all homes being built in StoneRidge are Energy Star Rated homes.
President of Sebring Builders, Rick Bennett, commented "God gives us the sun" and by turning it into solar power we are saving oil, breathing cleaner air and saving over $100,000 per year on electricity.
Solar Subdivision
Highlands Today
by Gary Pinnell
SEBRING - The first people to try hula hoops or electric cars or iPhones are called early adopters, says Roger Messenger, a professor emeritus of electrical engineering at Florida Atlantic University. These days, Messenger hopes the early adopters in Highlands County will be the first to buy solar-powered homes.
Messenger, now the vice president of engineering at Vergona/Bowersox Electric in Boca Raton, is helping Sebring Builders engineer a new subdivision called Stone Ridge. All 188 houses will have solar power, Messenger said.
Local Residents To Learn How To Save on Energy Bills
Highlands Today Industry Updates
SEBRING - Local residents will join some 100,000 people across the U.S. in learning about renewable energy and energy efficiency during the 12th annual American Solar Energy Society's National Solar Tour.
Amid rising energy costs and concerns about climate change, the National Solar Tour invites participates to see how neighbors are saving money on utility bills and protecting the environment by using clean sources of energy and reducing energy demand.
Through a series of open-house and informative tours, this event provides a good opportunity to learn about solar energy options, energy efficient design, real-world cost, and current rebates available.
